The author

– BSc in Ecology, Ethology & Evolution

– Diploma in Proofreading & Editing

– Working towards an MSc in Science Communication.

I love lazing around with a good book and a cup of tea with a biscuit, ideally in  a hammock or in bed. I love learning, reading, writing, and books. Books books books.

I am a word-nerd, and I value good grammar and prose. I love the internet, books by Tolkien and George R. R. Martin, vegetarianism, gaming, computers, Pokemon, DBZ, Firefly and mexican food.  I also have a weird fascination /reverence for dragons and reptiles.

Most of all I love science. All science, but especially ecology and all its related facets. I love animals and every single form of life there is. Because life is fascinating.

“The frog does not drink up the pond in which he lives.”

‎”Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar”, every “supreme leader”, every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.” – Carl Sagan

“Only when the last tree has been cut down; Only when the last river has been poisoned; Only when the last fish has been caught; Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.” – American Indian proverb.

  1. So I went to hear Neil deGrasse Tyson speak here in Atlanta a few days ago (he was all kinds of awesome) and as his closing remarks, he read that Carl Sagan quote in its entirety. Yes, that was just ONE of the ways he was awesome 🙂
